Project Aim: Expand food security in Clackamas County
Priority Topic Area: Culture of Health
Goal:
All Clackamas County residents have access to healthy food.
Objectives:
Increase distribution of produce to food insecure individuals and families.
Increase number of food distribution sites in Clackamas County.
Conduct analysis of current resources to enhance health food access points within existing locations in Clackamas County.
Project Highlights:
Opened a new Free Food Market that served 50 households on the first day giving away 9,000 pounds of food
Colton Food Pantry served 2,800 households which contained 11,900 individuals providing 162,100 pounds of food
Held a Food, Education, Agriculture, Solutions Together (FEAST) community conversation about personal food experiences with 55 families in attendance
Five action groups were formed as the result of the FEAST: 1) Newsletter, 2) Farmers Market, 3) Youth Education, 4) Adult Education, and 5) Hot Meals Program
