Accomplishments:
- Since its inception in October 2019, the program has placed five households (or 11 individuals) in housing.
- 29 families are on the waitlist who DevNW is working to connect to other essential services.
- Through a Housing-First model, participants establish their own sense of self-efficacy.
- The YHI has helped participants go back to school, begin receiving benefits they deserve, manage their health, and plan for their futures.
- One participant was couch surfing and living in a tent while pregnant with her first child. DevNW was able to help her find her own apartment in time to have her baby without worrying about where to sleep that night.
"I’d been bouncing around a lot for most of my pregnancy, so it’s been a really big blessing just to get into a place, and just be able to nest and get everything ready for Baby.”
